SUMMARY
 THE TIGER KING

The prince, born with inbred wisdom made sensible statements on the very tenth day, putting people transfixed in stupefaction outwitting the chief astrologer demanding him to tell the manner he dies. As, he was born in the hour of Bull, naturally had a life-threat from tiger. The king set on mission ‘Killing-100-Tigers’. Seventy tigers were shot dead in ten years, married to a princess of a kingdom boasting tiger population. Reaching on the ninety-ninth figure, there was complete dearth of tigers and hence had to go through real ordeal. Somehow the Dewan managed a tiger from people’s park Chennai; the king took aim and shot at it. Unfortunately, the tiger had not been put to death by the royal bullet. The King presents, an unskillfully carved wooden toy tiger, on the third birthday, to his three-year son and while playing with him with the same toy tiger whose slivers pierced in the right hand of the king, resulting in a flared infection costing the life of the king.

ABOUT THE STORY
The story The Tiger King is a satire on teh pride and stubbornness of people in power. the setting is of the days of autocratic and eccentric royal order, the kings.
actually, these kings were surving under the THUMB rule of British and that's why always feared of them. These rulers were actually far disconnected with the masses. They took no interest about the welfare of common people and working class. They mostly bent the laws in their favour and self suiting interests. The Maharaja of Pratibandhpurum tried to belie what was written in his fate. the chief astrologer had predicted that the cause of the death of the king would be a tiger. The king by giving up all royal duties haunted just by killing tigers. he set to kill 100, and shot all but one, which invariably become the reason of his death.
